Party until the Cows Come Home
Farms know how to work; but they also know how to celebrate :)

Growing up on the farm was the best thing in the world and when I had a wedding to plan there was nowhere else I could have imagined. When I mentioned this to my father of course he thought I was joking; how could I expect the farm to stop working long enough to prepare for a wedding and how could I ever transform our busy farm into a gorgeous place for hundreds of people to celebrate?Once he realized I was entirely serious and shared my visions with him, I am sure he still thought I was nuts but was supportive just the same…and so it began.

Planning for about a year with my fiancé, family and friends we managed to literally take one of the working barns (equipment storage) and clean and clean....FOREVER.....transforming the space into what I am sure (although admittedly biased) was the best/most beautiful wedding ever. My amazing family even helped to hand plant an entire field of sunflowers to use as decorations/backdrop.

The event was a hit not only was it picture perfect but it was so special to share the most important day of my life thus far on a place that shaped who I am and continues to inspire me.

Farming life is hard; there is not a doubt about it BUT it also allows for the important moments in life to be that much sweeter.

Cows Out!

When those barn doors open and the cows notice that the barn yard gate, shut to them all winter long, is swung wide open, It doesn’t take long; they’re off like yearlings sprung for the first time.

Friday Night Lights

All In A Day's Work

Friday Night Lights

Our Friday night didn't consist of dancing until dawn or headed to the local high school sports game. Instead our night consisted of flashlights, headlights and calf hide and seek.
